Today is the Day of Integrity
When we speak of Goals and Objectives, there are some who gaze off into the future in order to envision a day in which the goal or objective will be achieved. When you think of the meaning of integrity - are you focused on achieving flawlessness? Flawlessness is an unrealistic objective.
However, when it comes to the pursuit of integrity you need to realize that the accomplishing of integrity is a moment by moment accomplishing. Those who have a tendency towards self-condemnation do need to be patient with themselves and realize that the building of character takes a lot of time. Yet the building needs to begin Now.
The old saying is "Rome Was Not Built in One Day." Yet when did Rome become Rome? Was it Rome when it had less than One Thousand buildings? Could it be called Rome when there were only One Hundred buildings? Rome was built from moment to moment.
Now what if a storm or a flood levels part of your village before you reach a hundred buildings? Do you stop? Do you throw up your hands in frustration or bow your head in despair?
Consider the building of character and of integrity to be like unto the building of a village, which slowly becomes a town and slowly becomes a city. And yet, when it becomes a city is it time to stop building or is the building just beginning?

If there's a dream in your life — something you yearn to achieve, or merely something it would be so much fun to try — don't put it aside. If that dream is up there at the top (or very near the top) of your personal values, do it now. Yes, now. Don't wait another day. Nothing is as important to your long-term well being.Your long-term well being is achieved by daily and hourly achievements. If you want to achieve Integrity, today is the day to BE BUILDING your metropolis of integrity.
